Myrna Crooks obtained her degree in Piano Performance from the College of Idaho and has been a music educator her entire adult life.

She has been associated with Yamaha Corporation since 1981, teaching Yamaha Music Education programs to children and adults.

 

In 1990, Myrna co-founded the Yamaha Music School for the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps in Concord, CA., and served as director of the music school for ten years.

 

In 1992, she became an Education Specialist for Yamaha Corporation, training teachers across the United States and assisting music schools and dealers in marketing their education programs.

 

In 2005, Myrna was actively involved with Clavinova Connection, one of Yamaha’s innovative music and wellness programs. Lately Myrna has been training teachers for Yamaha’s Keyboard Encounters adult course, Keyboard Encounters Kids, and Music Friends Piano Keyboard Course.

 

Myrna recently relocated to Portland and opened Portland Music School in late 2019.

 

She passionately believes every person is musical and wants to put smiles on the faces of students of all ages when they realize their dream of playing the piano and making music.
